|
|

“Kindergarten to Careers” is Pitsco’s articulated K-12 curriculum
that integrates Science, Math, Technology, and Language Arts, and provides
students with critical learning experiences about the world of work. All of
Pitsco’s instruction is hands-on, student-centered, and problem-based.
Plus, it aligns to and supports Ohio Standards for Science, Math, Language

Spectrum System –
Elementary Grades
|
|

Teaching science
in the elementary grades is a challenge. Spectrum Systems helps schools meet
that challenge in an age-appropriate hands-on learning environment with
these features:
·
4-5 day science “missions” for teams of 4 students
·
Daily reading in content areas; daily writing
·
Career links
·
Take-home kits
·
Great for after-school and ESL
·
Deploy as a mobile or permanent lab, or as a
learning center in a classroom
|
|
Synergistic Systems – Middle Grades
|
|

Synergistic Systems
is the first and still the best “modular technology lab.” Students work in
pairs to complete 7-day instructional units (called “modules”) that
integrate science, math, technology, and language arts. All modules include
daily hands-on activities, computer-based curriculum with full-motion
video, and inquiry-based learning. There are over 80 module titles, so that
schools can design a custom lab to meet their curriculum needs – whether
core areas such as Math or Science, or “electives” such as Technology or
Family/Consumer Sciences. n Ohio

Pathways Academies – High
School
|
|

Pathways Academies
provide a seamless grade 9-12 program for students to learn in specific
career areas. Pathways Academies include Pathways Suites of Learning and
CareerPorts, and in some cases include Synergistic Systems.
Pathways puts
teams of 6 students in a simulated “real-world” setting (or “Suite”) to learn
and apply knowledge in areas such as such as Agribiotechnology and Digital
Manufacturing. Suites provide nine to ten weeks of hands-on, career-based
instruction that builds skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and
presentating.
CareerPorts
is an exciting and innovative new high school program. Its online
curriculum enables students to apply specific career content to solve real
world problems in engineering, business, education, and health. Students
can earn core academic credit in subjects such as math, science, or
English.
